Yankeetown, FL is a west coast hidden jewel. The outermost reaches of the town are located around the mouth of the Withlacoochee River and along the Gulf of Mexico. There’s every fish you can think of, and many beautiful sites of old Florida.

“Wao” is the most common expression when someone goes to Yankeetown. The best way to interpret that is “don’t thank us, you’re welcome. Or “so now you know”. This hidden jewel allows you to enjoy beautiful landscapes, gorgeous sceneries with an abundance of wildlife such as: bald eagles, osprey, white Pelicans, Hawks, otter and alligators, not to mention surrounded by greenery of all sorts. You can see white pelicans migrating and dolphins teaching their young to fish.

It is especially magical while you’re fishing, to be able to catch any fish you can think of! Be prepared to learn about the local history of Yankeetown, the beauty of fascinating Old Florida, and take some pictures of the historical landmarks that are still standing and in almost their natural state.
